Pretty Honest - Book Review

Refreshingly candid, funny and down to earth - Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes is my new little beauty bible! As far as beauty books go, there are very few on the market that get the right balanced between beautiful images, helpful content and actually being an enjoyable, relatable read, but Sali has totally hit the spot with this one making it the only beauty book you need this new year!

For those of you who are unfortunate enough to have never heard of this lovely lady, Sali Hughes is a beauty columnist for The Guardian as well as a trained makeup artist and brand consultant for many leading beauty brands. It is these years of experience that makes Pretty Honest the ultimate 'How To for Dummies' beauty book.
Any question you may have ever pondered on, has probably been covered in this book, she goes over everything you could ever need to know from Salon etiquette- Do you or don't you take your knickers off when getting waxed? to what to do with those unruly eyebrows! - Sali has your back!

The thing I really love about this book is that it is really written like her columns, its super casual and more about her expressing her opinions on all things beauty, rather than a 'this is how you should' rule book. She offers really great advice from understanding your skin type to working out which formulation foundation you should be buying, its really the most helpful beauty book on the market, and doesn't in any way advertise certain products in your face, which is refreshing!

Lauren Laverne wrote 'This book is equal parts sass, sense, lipstick and laughs' and I couldn't have put it better myself. I have a feeling this will be a book I lend out to everyone of my girlfriends, because they simply have to read it!
